because one day you'll look back and realise they were the big things.”
- Kurt Vonnegut
I've knocked off some big bucket list items this year, my skydive being notably the biggest but it has been the small moments that have really counted as I start to reflect back on 2016.
It has been watching sunset with a loved one, a simple shared lunch, an afternoon at the movies, sharing a laugh with my best friend as she arrived late as always to my birthday bash (I forgot to tell her it started 2 hours earlier), the pleasure of a haircut, crisp clean linen after a long day, books to read, down time with my kids. As exciting as the skydive was all these small moments are what have made 2016 a good year.
In 2017 I aim to focus on my Thimble List and indulge more in the simple pleasures of life. More sunsets and laughter and so much more love and joy. Taking care of myself in the ways that nourish and grow me - journalling, meditation, crafting, reading, massages, healthy choices including enough sleep and exercise! Nurturing those relationships which feed my soul and fill my blissbox. Stopping to smell the roses and less online time and more offline real time.
Life is too short to only focus on the big once off events. Every day will give us a small series of happy memories if we just stay present.
Love Always
