I know how hard it is - been there often enough but no is necessary if you have any hope of remaining a sane, functioning, rational adult.
Not everyone is entitled to your time and energy. So learn to say no - and mean it.
Just learn to say no. I know how hard it is - been there often enough but no is necessary if you have any hope of remaining a sane, functioning, rational adult. Not everyone is entitled to your time and energy. So learn to say no - and mean it.

"No" should extend beyond socially awkward situations to any demands on one's time, as needed. Once you say yes, your name suddenly starts making the rounds via word of mouth. I made it a practice that I would not say "yes" to any volunteer activity in which my child was not a participant. Since they all are grown, I have said "no" to many requests. It gets easier.

You reach a point of accepting that you made mistakes,
they cost you dearly and that you can't change the past. At that point you stop raging against your history, accept it, and move forward into a calmer, less self destructive frame of mind. Archives
