However it is my skill of choice for 2015 and I shall master it. But for another reason which also has to do with my list of 9 challenges for the year.
It is to do good for someone who cannot thank you.
I plan to knit just plain blankets to soothe my soul and then donate the finished blankets to the local SPCA and places of safety for deserted and abandoned babies. The babies and the animals are the most helpless and needy in our society. They can't help themselves but I can help keep little ones warm at night and give an animal a soft place to lay down. For me right now that is enough. It may not be a huge contribution but in the lives of those who receive a blanket it will be enough.
As Mother Teresa said "If you can't feed a hundred people, feed just one.”
You may not be able to help 100 but you can help just one. And that is all it takes to make a difference. Just one person at a time. My challenge to you is to find something where you can help - just something small. The world doesn't need one big gesture. It needs a billion small ones.
Be one of the billion small ones.
