You don't change. You grow.
Change sounds like you put forward a false persona and suddenly you change into this person nobody knows, whereas growth gives a sense that you are not a stagnant person and you continue to interact with life around you all the time and adapt to where necessary.
Over the last couple of years I've often been told that I've 'changed'. I haven't. I've grown by doing a lot of internal work and by being adamant that in order to live an authentic life, where I was true to myself, I needed to follow what felt right to me and not what everyone one else wanted or needed me to be.
You see that is the issue - the minute you do something others perceive as out of character their world gets rocked and they don't like that. If you were known as the people pleaser in your group and suddenly you have added the word NO to your vocabulary I can guarantee people will claim you have changed. You haven't darling. You have simply grown into a person who is more aware of who they are and what they need and you've adapted your boundaries to fit in with that.
That is growth.
Growth also gives you the freedom to explore things you may have been too scared to try before. It's a chance to explore something complete different. Maybe you'll hate it, but maybe you'll love it and either way there is a lesson to be learnt which in the end will add something to your life. Even a mistake is a lesson learnt. Or else it will be a new pathway to be forged. You'll never know unless you take the chance. Whether big or small there is opportunity just waiting for you.
Remember even weeds can be beautiful so don't always want to decorate your table with only the most beautiful cut roses bought from the florist. Wander outside and pick a few blooms that ordinarily you wouldn't look at twice and use that to create something beautiful as your centrepiece.
It really is in the most unlikely of places that you will grow the most.
Love Always
