"You can MOTIVATE by fear, and you can MOTIVATE by reward.
But both these methods are only temporary.
The only lasting thing is self motivation."

provide (someone) with a reason for doing something.
It is Friday evening. It has been a long week, with the last 2 days being rather rough. Trust me, it is taking a whole ton of motivation to sit here and write.
That little saying "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink" rings true. If you as the individual are not motivated by the end goal there is nothing except fear or reward that will trigger a response. But if that is the motivation you won't really feel you have achieved anything worth being proud of within yourself.
This particular blog challenge is about me reconnecting with my writing voice. It isn't about hits, comments, likes or followers. That is all superficial and lasts just as long as the next sunrise. I feel like I've lost my voice somewhere and I know that through writing I'll start to connect the dots again. It is simply a starting point for me. But I know that I have to self motivate myself to follow through as there is no fear with this task, nor is there a reward at the end. Any fear is only self doubt and any outside reward would be those likes and comments.
What I am looking for is a deeper sense of achievement and satisfaction. And I'm slowly gaining that every day I sit down and write.
So let what speaks to your soul motivate you and in that way you are living the most authentic life you can.
Love Always
